I am a speaker, author, and college professor. In my books and on my Substack (Beauty Matters), I write about Dante, C.S. Lewis, and the relevance of ancient and medieval beauty for our digital world. I serve as the Director for the Center for Beauty and Culture, at Benedictine College.

In my popular writing and lectures and my Substack, I venture into the arts; travel and literature; technology and humanism; science and culture; and the experience of modernity, all in light of the ancient and medieval world.
I am the author of seven books (most recently, A New Translation of Dante’s Inferno and The Medieval Mind of C.S. Lewis), and I enjoy giving lectures on what I’m thinking about.
